The lodgement due dates for the Australian Tax Office (ATO) are supplied online via the ATO website in an effort to help balance small and medium businesses workload over the year.

 

The obligations that are laid out by the ATO include but are not limited to:  tax returns, monthly and quarterly activity statements,FBT returns and pay as you go (PAYG) withholding annual reports,  annual GST returns and information reports, annual and quarterly installment notices, a range of super statements, including the annual return for self-managed super funds (SMSFs), tax file number (TFN) report and annual TFN withholding report for closely held trusts, other lodgement obligations, including franking account returns, annual investment income reports and venture capital deficit returns.

 

What are the Business Activity Statement (BAS) Lodgement Dates for 2012?

The remaining BAS lodgement dates for 2012 are the 21st of November and the 21st of December.

 

What are the quarterly BAS lodgement dates for 2012?

The quarter 1, 2012-13 -electronic lodgement (ELS, ECI, Tax Agent Portal or BAS Agent Portal and SBR) is due on the 25th of November 2012.

 

What if the due date is not a business day?

Where a due date falls on a day that is not a business day (that is, the due date is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday), lodgement or payment may be made on the first business day after the due date without incurring a penalty or general interest charge (GIC).
